This should be a fun one, if you don't mind another Linen Stitch project! You only have to do the RS of the pattern though, because the Irish Coffee Gift Bag is worked in the round!
Schedule:
February 28: Pattern will go up here as a FREE download for participants.
March 1: Introduce yourself and show us your yarn!
March 2: Cast on and get through Round 7.
March 3: Make it to 5".
March 4: Break/Catch-Up Day.
March 5: Make it to the Eyelet Round.
March 6: Finish the Bag.
March 7: Post photos and Project Pages.
Materials:
About 60-70 yards EACH of two colors worsted weight yarn. Pictured is brown (in cotton) and mint green (in tencel). You'll also need a 16" circular needle, size 5 or so, or dpns long enough to hold about 20 stitches each. (You can use lighter or heavier yarn and larger or smaller needles as you like; you'll just end up with a larger or smaller bag.)
We'll have a prize drawing for everyone who participates each day. Prizes will include free patterns from Wylde & Plumb, free book downloads, and Magnet Bookmark/Linekeepers.
Comment below to let us know you're going to join in! The luck o' the Irish to you!
My poor bag is still parked on some different needles. #needtofinishoneday
I would like the gift card holders if you have a set. I will pick a pattern if you don’t have any.
Good morning, all!
Did you move your clocks forward? I hope you're not late to anything today!
Carla, congratulations on finishing your bag! Since I know you already have more than one magnetic bookmark, is there anything else you might like to have instead? You name your prize for finishing your bag!
Hope you'll all have a relaxing finish to your weekend, and if you're behind on your bag but still want to finish don't hesitate to ask here, or in the chats, if you have any troubles.
Hope you'll be able to join in with the Exfoliator KAL on March 23!
I posted on Ravelry, Facebook, and Instagram.

I finished my bag! That was a lot of knitting
for one week. I’m sure that I will not be able to knit a double knitting dish cloth in one week.
They should get to you fairly quickly, since you're just a state over.
SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2020: Last Day!
Goodness, everyone's falling like flies! Sounds like it's been a tough week for a lot of people. I'm sorry if you're struggling with life, sickness, stress, or whatever is taking you down.
Carla, yours is the only picture yesterday, so would you like to pick out another greeting card as a prize? I have not mailed out your and Nic's cards yet, but will try to get them out before the mailman comes today. If I miss him, it'll be first thing Monday! Tonight before I go to bed (10:00ish EST) I'll post the winner of the Magnetic Bookmark from everyone who posts today. You don't have to be finished, just post a photo of where you are by the end of the day.
And don't forget! Tomorrow starts Daylight Savings Time, unless you're in Arizona or Hawaii. Have a happy Saturday!
I have had a strange week and ended up being sick. I am so behind on this KAL and don’t see that I will be ale to finish in any timely manner.
I will be able to finish my bag tomorrow. I am almost to the eyelet row. It has been a hectic week.
FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2020: Finish Up the Bag!
Good morning knitters! It's fun to see your bags getting near the end. I hope no one had any trouble with the eyelets yesterday? Or if you're not there yet, no worries!
Yesterday's winner was...
Kasandra!
Please choose a pattern from the KNIT Patterns or CROCHET Patterns menu above!
We're getting close! Hope everyone's enjoying the project! (Or whatever project you're working on!)
This just happened. I think a Purl was busy. She looks so innocent. in the top picture she is helping me with physical therapy.
I’ll have to finish this later. Need the cable and needles to make two beanies for hubby and a work partner of his 🙄
I made it to 7 inches today. It has been a hectic couple of days.
Ok. Finished up this morning! Katelyn was buzzing around, while I was reading the directions for the cord, which left me thinking WTF? Katelyn was the only one around, and and not quite 3.5 years, although I love her to bits, I really couldn’t „trust“ her to even try this. Therefore, I just grabbed my trusty size 3 dpns and made a two stitch I-cord, and called it a day.
Love it!
THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2020: Eyelet Round
Today is the day we take on the eyelet round. This might be the most challenging part of the bag, but once you get it it will make sense. You're repeating every 6 sts, so you have 5 sts followed by a yarn-over eyelet. You actually have to slip two sts in a row at one point during the repeat:
[(k1, wyf sl 1 to p)2xs, skpo, yo]
So you: knit, slip, knit, slip, then (slip, knit, pass slipped stitch over), then yo.
The holes will be nearly invisible, but they are there. When you make your rope for the drawstring you'll have to feel with your fingers a bit to find the holes to slip it through.
Let us know if you have any trouble!
9” achieved. Starting eyelets now and hope to bind off tonight leaving finishing for tomorrow.
I do like the way the cotton is interfacing with the acrylic. I’m using LionBrandBasic Stitch which comes in 3oz. Skein which is nice for small project. The coral rose is old faithful Sugar’n Cream.
Well, this catch up day is needed but despair of making it to 9”. Too many irons in the fire this week.
Yes, and medicinal teas like ‘breath easy, work good to either drink or use in the steam method.
I’d love this one, please 💕 https://wyldeandplumb.wixsite.com/wyldeandplumb/copy-of-sample-sale?lightbox=dataItem-k4n71ofl1
