An idea struck, and the stash supported giving it a go. Now I'm wishing I had more of this yarn to keep making these hexagons to get a blanket out of the project.
Hope you enjoy this free pattern, but please keep in mind if you work it up that you're a guinea pig. It hasn't been tested, except that I did it seven times (see photo) and I think I got the pattern jotted down correctly. If not, let me know!
Spoked Hexagons Pattern
Materials:
Stitch Studio Storybook Yarn (265yds/245m; 4.94oz/140g; 100% Acrylic):
1 Ball Each Duckling (A), Florina (B), & Papaya (C)
Size G Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Abbreviations:
ch(s) – chain(s)
dc(s) – double crochet(s)
fpsc – front post single crochet
fphdc – front post half double crochet
fpdc – front post double crochet
fptr – front post treble crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sk – skip

Hexagon measures 6-1/2" from tip to tip
Notes:
When changing colors always change yarn on the last loop of the previous st. Initial ch-1 or ch-2 always counts as a sc or dc, respectively.
Instructions:
With A, ch 3. [3 chs = 1 dc + 1 ch]
Rnd 1) 11dcs in 3rd ch from hook, join with sl st to initial ch-2. [12 sts]
Rnd 2) ch 2, fpdc in same st (initial ch-2 from Rnd 1), [dc in same st, 2dcs in next st, fpdc in next st]5xs, dc in same st, dc in next st, change to B and join with sl st to initial ch-2. [24 sts]
Rnd 3) continuing with B, ch 2, fptr in next fpdc, [dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, dc, fptr in next fpdc]5xs, dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, join with sl st to initial ch-2. [30 sts]
Rnd 4) ch 2, fptr in next fptr, [dc in each of next 2 sts, ch 3, sk ch-1 space, dc in each of next 2 sts, fptr in next fptr]5xs, dc in each of next 2 sts, ch 3, sk ch-1 space, dc in next st, join with sl st to initial ch-2.
Rnd 5) ch 1, fpsc in next fptr, [ch 4, sc in next ch-3 space, ch 4, sc in same ch-3 space again, ch 4, fpsc in next fptr]5xs, ch 4, sc in next ch-3 space, ch 4, sc in next ch-3 space again, ch 4, change to C and join with sl st to initial ch-1.

Cut yarn and finish off. Weave in ends.
Attach hexagon by sewing them together, or by doing a slip st that alternates one side to the other around the edges of the hexagons.
